School safety education

We are committed to educating young people about public transport and safety issues. We work with nurseries, schools, colleges and community groups to help reduce anti-social behaviour and promote the use of public transport.

Here to help

Making safety work for you

We have a dedicated Youth Liaison Officer who works with nurseries, schools, colleges and community groups to help reduce anti-social behaviour and promote the use of public transport.

Safety sessions cover a wide range of topics related to public transport safety and awareness and are tailored to suit the age group.

Visits are flexible, can fit into any time you have available and use interactive games and activities to talk about safety on public transport.

Our Youth Liaison Officer also works at SafetyWorks, an interactive safety centre in Newcastle, which features a mock up Metro station and train tracks. School and youth groups can book educational visits. If you would like to find out more or to book a visit, please contact the Youth Liaison Officer via schools.liaison@nexus.org.uk
