Thinking about featuring our logos, content or designs in commercial or
promotional activity, film or TV shows, videos or publications?

With familiar branding and spaces that are part of North East life, we get lots of enquiries asking to use our assets and intellectual property (IP), including those of our Metro trains and stations. We’re always happy to discuss this and work with you to licence 
appropriate use.

We have a responsibility to protect the integrity of our brand. All usage by other individuals and organisations must be licensed so that we can manage and protect our brand equity and reputation. Licence agreements and terms will vary according to use and purpose, and will always incur a licence fee.

Permissions and guidelines

Using our intellectual property

To be granted a licence you must:

  • Have sought approval from us as to the intended use
  • Make sure your use complies with our brand guidelines
  • Pay the licence fee

If you suspect that someone is using our trademarks
incorrectly, or without a licence, let us know by emailing IPinfringements@nexus.org.uk.

We’ll contact the unauthorised users to discuss granting a retrospective licence and to arrange for applicable
fees to be paid.

Yes, provided you do it safely and considerately, following the guidelines below. We welcome train enthusiasts and customers wanting to take videos and photos on system, and we’re happy for you to take family snaps and selfies with phones or cameras while on our stations or vehicles. Any videos or photos taken must be for personal use only.

Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of all our customers and employees. Anyone found taking photographs or filming on our premises will be challenged by one of our team if they have concerns about safety or security. Our employees can use their judgement, and if they need to stop any filming or photography that could impact the safety and security of others, they will. Please kindly comply with their requests.
