No trains Gateshead Stadium - Pelaw

On Sunday 10 February until about 6.15pm (depending on location), no trains will run between Gateshead Stadium and Pelaw, to allow for track maintenance work.  During the work a replacement bus service, number 900 will be calling at or close to all stations between Gateshead and Pelaw.  From 5.40pm no trains will run from Monument towards Pelaw until 6.17pm, during this time the replacement bus service will run from Monument. Replacement bus stop locations and bus timetables are available below.  Your journey will take longer so please leave extra time for travel.  For help planning your journey call 0191 20 20 747 (open Monday - Friday 8.00am - 6.00pm) or use the Live Travel Map.

Platform 1 lift out of use 8 February 8.00am until about midday

During the work there will be no step free access to or from Chichester platform 1. Chichester platform 2 is closed to allow for construction of the new
South Shields Interchange. The nearest station with step free access is South Shields.

During the work if you require step free access and wish to travel from platform 1 towards South Hylton, travel from platform 2 to Pelaw change platform and continue your journey.  If you require step free access and wish to leave the train at Fellgate platform 1 please stay on the train to Brockley Whins change platform and return to Fellgate platform 2.

Tickets valid only as far as Seaburn will be valid if travelling to East Boldon for step free access.  If you require step free access and wish to leave the train at Seaburn platform 1 please stay on the train to St Peter’s change platform and return to Seaburn platform 2. Tickets valid only as far as Seaburn will be valid if travelling to St Peter's for step free access.

Chichester platform 2 closure
